Implementation of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM in a design company

This bachelor work deals with the problem of implementation of company management of construction data called PDM (Product Data Management). The aim of this work is to present SolidWorks Enterprise PDM, its options during implementation and especially the processes of the lifecycle of the PDM implementation. Additionally it presents its linking to company information systems, which, together with CAD (Computer-aided design) systems, make up the core of PLM solutions (Product Lifecycle Management) of management of products. The closing part of the work shows a summary of all information into a particular example of analysis, solution concept, and configuration of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM in T Machinery a.s. construction company as well as the benefits of the implemented system.

Reconstruction of the pre-station area in Havířov

Diploma thesis focuses on the reconstruction of the forecourt area in the city of Havířov. The theoretical part clarifies the concept of project management and its fundamental principles, addressing requirements for construction site equipment and the construction schedule. In the practical section, theoretical knowledge is applied, presenting the reconstruction project itself with a detailed description of its progression. An essential component is the proposal for construction site equipment, including cost estimation, along with the calculation of electricity and water consumption costs. The goal of the thesis is to compare real components of the project with alternative solutions, with an emphasis on potential savings in terms of finances and time.

The diploma thesis focuses on project management – managing of software development activities. It explains a basic terms of given issue and it also deals with advantages and disadvantages of some known practices and methods which are often followed when developing software. The practical part includes an analysis and evaluation of concrete project. This project is then the base for designing an optimization of software development methodology. Designed optimization will be able to help manage similar projects in future.

Since 19th century and great minds like Frederick Taylor or Henri Fayol, the theory of management went through consequential changes. Every new scholar was developing theories that in turn were raising new question and challenges for management. Until today, no single theory was globally recognized. Every modern management concept is arguing for the right to be the only correct, without giving a clear answer on how to manage the company and employees effectively. However, nowadays it is not enough to be a master in the field of finance, accounting, commerce or any other sciences to successfully manage the department or the company. Managing requires working with people, each of whom is endowed with a certain knowledge base, and more importantly with values, interests and work styles. The modern literature points to the need to choose the right style of management, however, a variety of information about the "ideal manager" often contradict one another. For the purpose of studying the methodology used is based on documentary analysis of most commonly used managerial styles presented by different management scholars. Different theories are connected and combined into consolidated model that is derived from both psychological aspects of human nature and the functions every manager should perform.

Design of methodology of administration and management of issues and its application in chosen organisation

This thesis is focused on design methodology of administration and management of issues, using issue-tracking system. The objective is to create such methodology and deploy it to specific organization. During methodology creation, there were used best practices, acquired from source thesis and authors experiences. In theoretical part of thesis are described approaches, witch is this thesis based on. Then thesis describes what issue-tracking system is and lists mostly used issue-tracking systems. In practical part, the methodology itself is created. At first, target group is described. Then, types of issuse and roles used in issue-tracking system are described. Then is described, how to create lifecycle of issue and how to handle with its attributes. Last part is focused on data reporting from issue-tracking system. Last chapter of practical part describes how to implement methodology to issue-tracking system JIRA.
